Step-by-Step: Setting Up MT5
Step 1: Download MT5
Download the official PMEX MT5 platform here. Choose the correct version for your device — desktop (Windows), or the mobile app version if you prefer trading on the go.
Step 2: Install the Platform
Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen prompts. Installation typically takes just a couple of minutes on a standard connection.
Step 3: Log In With Your Credentials
Open MT5 and select “Login to Trade Account”. Enter:
- Login ID — provided by your broker
- Password — provided by your broker

Step 7: Place Your First Live Trade
When you’re ready:
- Right-click your chosen instrument in Market Watch → New Order
- Set your trade volume (lot size)
- Set your Stop Loss and Take Profit levels — this is a core part of managing risk properly, and shouldn’t be skipped even on your first trade
- Click Buy or Sell to execute
Common MT5 Setup Issues (and Quick Fixes)
“Invalid Account” error on login Double-check your Server name matches exactly what your broker provided — this is the most common login issue, usually caused by a typo or outdated server entry.
Platform shows no live prices Check your internet connection first. If that’s fine, confirm your account status is fully active (not still pending verification) with your broker.
Can’t find a specific instrument in Market Watch Right-click anywhere in the Market Watch panel → “Show All” to display the full list of available instruments, since some may be hidden by default.
